As many of us know, the 1199 Panigale features a monocoque design, meaning that the engine is a stress-member of the chassis, in other words there is no frame that holds everything together. This is groundbreaking technology for motorcycles, however. And this is a big however.. The Panigale and its monocoque design has received a tremendous amount of criticism, this is in part thanks to its inability to perform with motorcycles featuring a frame design. Additionally if you were to crash your Panigale, you should basically prepare to write the bike off, or at least a major part of it.
So you wouldn’t expect it to take too long before someone put the 200hp motor from the Panigale into a frame, well here it is, a 1199 Panigale featuring a classic Ducati trait, a trellis frame.
Pierobon designed and manufactured the frame using a steel and aluminium alloy, now only one question remains, which is faster?
